



Play DIRT What?
Play DIRT is an EXPERIENCE. It's about fun, dynamic workouts. It's
about developing your skill and confidence incorporating movement into
your daily life. Through individual or group outdoor training sessions,
you'll get your heart rate going and use your muscles in all planes of
motion. We'll take you on workouts and allow you to develop your own
spontenaeity. Feel comfortable working out without a plan, anytime and
anywhere. A good skill for travelers whose available environment
changes frequently.
Each workout will begin with a short meditation, followed by body looseners and a dynamic warmup. From there, we'll progress towards the day's goals.
DISCOVER
Something catches your eye. A tree, a bench, a fence, a root, a small series of hills. Something new; something we can use to increase the play and fun in our workout. A program has to be interesting if it's going to last. When you look more closely at the environment around you, you'll always find something new to engage you.
IMAGINE
What can we do to integrate this into our workout? How can we use this to add a new dimension to our training? Every enviroment is an opportunity. The only limit is your imagination. We come across unexpected things in our daily lives, and learning to be inspired rather than intimidated by things that pop up will allow us to confidently find flow rather than waste energy swimming against the current.
RESPOND
We've got our ideas; now it's time to respond. Try out your ideas while responding to how your body feels. What movements feel good today, in this moment? Are they working the muscles you wanted to work? Are they integrated movements, combining upper and lower body movements and/or using multiple planes of motion? Is it too easy or too hard to keep good form? Listen to your body, focus, and respond to your intuition when choosing your exercises.
TRAIN
Now it's time to MOVE! Get serious about growth and strength, personally and physically. Rely on your own body and intuition and use that strength to develop the body you've always wanted! A great deal of joy resides in your body; use that joy to develop fitness from the inside out. Your energy will be amazing!
Class Location
Classes/workshops will be held outdoors to incorporate the energy of nature and add that extra dimension of sweat vs. peace to our workouts. Be prepared for the weather - classes will remain as scheduled, rain or shine!
